The Last Tree specialises in creative environmentalism. We apply creative knowledge & transdisciplinary practice to ecological problems. We do this by finding 'new narratives, visions and imaginings' to shift beyond a conversation of crisis.
We understand our global ecological situation (signalled by climate change, mass species extinction, waste accumulation and environmental degradation) as the residue of unhealthy Cultures. The Last Tree specialises in interconnectivity. We work with the relationships between culture & environment to strengthen collective wellbeing by stimulating ecosystem strategies (cultural & biological).
Our aim is to assist considerably to the rebalancing of the culture-nature dialogue. To help people remember the potency in this connection and also the responsibility it entails.

THE TRANSDICIPLINARY MAESTRO Ilka Blue is the resident Magician at The Last Tree. A transdisciplinary maestro who works across the globe as a dream hunter. Ilka’s foremost talent is applying creative and whole systems thinking to unfurl rich potential. Equipped with gypsy shoes, Ms Blue delights in the diverse wisdom of the people, projects and places her work unwraps. This adventurous stick gatherer found her toolkit in a strawberry patch and it consists of deep insight, acute practicality and boundless passion.

The Last Tree was inspired by ‘The Lorax’, a little fable by Dr Seuss about blindness, brightness and planting the essential seed.
